Windsurfing: The Dip-Felixstowe Wind Direction: sw then ssw Wind Stength: 15/25 Surf / Sea State: lumpy :( Air Temperature: 20 Sea Temperature: 16 Weather: sunny to start then couldy and wet Max Speed: 24.76 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 28.22 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
As I couldn't do any pond sailing at West Kirby :( I will make it one day
!!! I had do to the next best thing get up early to make the most of the
sunshine and take the longboard out for a cruise !!! So at 8.15 I set off
from The Dip beating up to the other side of the peir well powered up with
8.5 in a lumpy sea.A quick stop on the beach for a few adjustments then a
three and a half mile broad reach straight into the sun - about as much fun
as you can have on a windsurfer and worth a five star session on this run
alone !!! I then reached into the Deben and sailed as far as Ramsholt
corner to see if I could find some wind and flat water - I found the flat
water sadly no wind :( I then had the interesting beat out of the river
only just making against the strong incoming tide !!! I had a few runs in
Bawdsey Bay and returned to The Dip with the idea of packing up but Darren
T turned up and the wind swung ssw - cross shore so I rigged 6.6 and took
out the F2 Wizzard.I was way powered powered so changed to 5.6 and spent a
hour battling the bumps !!! This is not the sailing I like sailing
unpowered in lumpy seas, the wind was up and down and the chop had chop :(
and as for the weather it was crap, cloudy and heavy rain and with the tide
turning staying upwind was hard so time to pack up - shame Mark Smalling
didn't come in five minutes earlier as he lost the wind and ended up on
kite beach and had the long walk of shame !!!
